Just as expected, Minecraft: Dungeons is a wholesome character building game that one might be tempted to tag as a ‘cute Diablo’. Don’t fool yourself though —higher difficulties and bosses are indeed challenging, and you’re forced to think and act swiftly. Fortunately, Mojang lets you build your own hero on the fly, just by swapping their equipment, so you’ll end up trying tons of fun new stuff very often.

The epitome of good things coming in small packages, Minecraft Dungeons is simple, wholesome fun.

There’s plenty to like about Minecraft Dungeons, and at £15.99 on PSN it’s terrific value for a game that you and your kids could beat in a weekend. It’s not especially difficult with four players and the light-hearted nature of it all ensures Minecraft fans will find plenty to love. It’s just a shame there’s no sign of the Minecraft’s primary mechanic, which would have been a great addition to the overall experience. It’s a good laugh and as is so often with co-op games, you’ll get the most out of it with your pals/family.

So first off its kinda addicting to say the least, you can spend hours grinding so you can get better weapons and loot, and collecting emeralds. Next if you have Ps Plus or xbox live you can play with friends and you can also just play with someone at home with an extra controller! The games straight foward so you wont have a hard time understanding what is going on or how do you do that. I also forgot to mention that its very fun to play with friends and by yourself!

So in total if you are bored and got $20.00 plus tax to spare, got get yourself this game and get gaming!

Surprisingly fun and addicting, not the deepest experience, but dose everything have to be. Its actually an interesting take on the ArpgSurprisingly fun and addicting, not the deepest experience, but dose everything have to be. Its actually an interesting take on the Arpg formula relying more on randomised weapons, items and powers and adapting to them. Still has that all important ping of excitement whenever you get something good that other recent ARPGs are missing like Chaos Bane, but really is an innovative take on the genre. Of Course it will be punished for this originality by many, but it nice to see someone try something new. Expand

The game at best is a pretty good Diablo clone, and at its worse its a Minecraft spin-off that has almost nothing to with Minecraft apart from the title.

There are no mechanics carried over from Minecraft - no crafting, no destructible environments, no ability to build structures - and many features such as The Nether, Mushroom Bios, Ice Bios etc are absent as well. Also, only a few items such as the pickaxes and fishing rods are real items from original Minecraft, ever other item is a new item made for this game, it doesn't feel like Minecraft, just feels like a Minecraft re-skin of a game totally irrelevant to the source game.

The core game has a lot of polish, don't get me wrong. Game is a lot of fun to play, and the enchanting system allows for lots of diverse play-styles and customisation. Levels although repetitive are fun, the loot system is well balance, good variety of enemies, great visuals and music etc. However, the game is tiny, the story is almost non-existent, the gameplay is not good enough to warrant a second play through and the fact that there is DLC already despite the small size is a real low blow as well.

I'm kind of just confused as to why this exists? If you're not going to bring anything from Minecraft except a superficial reproduction of its exterior then why even bother? I can't help but feel this is a cheap cash in rather than a creative spin-off title. Not a bad game by any means, but not worth purchasing I'd say.

It was incredibly fun up until the game crashes started happening regularly - first corrupting my son's character file and then my daughters. Restore from an earlier save? Nope - characters and progress gone! Could have been really good. Expand

Game was fun at first, but it's one of the worst games I've played. The mechanics for starters is worse than horrible. I honestly don't mindGame was fun at first, but it's one of the worst games I've played. The mechanics for starters is worse than horrible. I honestly don't mind random targets, but if there's a mob right in front of you, you'll most likely shoot the wall. Sometimes your ammo will hit the ground even though there's mobs right in front of you...on top of that, apparently there's a so-called "Secret" that does not exist in Pumpkin Pastures. The online so-called "Guides" are utterly useless and absolutely not helpful. I would not recommend the game (especially because the mechanics). If I knew this game was horrible, I would not have gotten it. Expand
