The Resident Evil 4 remake is a remarkable achievement that walks the fine line between action and horror, appealing to both old and new fans of the series. Capcom has kept the original’s essence and expanded on it with beautiful and detailed environments, expanded gameplay, and deeper character development. While the absence of Mercenaries Mode and Ada’s storylines at launch is disappointing, the overall experience of the main game more than compensates for this. As I mentioned earlier, the reply value for Resident Evil 4 is through the roof. Knowing how much time I put into Village, which has a fraction of the content here, there is plenty of fun and horror to be experienced. My hope is that many gamers can experience the remake on their own as I did, and have that feeling of playing it for the first time. As of now, Resident Evil 4 remake has officially dethroned Dead Space has as my Game of the Year.

A very conservative, but also very successful remake of a genre classic that every horror game lover should experience. If you once missed this milestone, you don't have to look back, the new version perfectly represents it and in a modern guise awakens the same feelings as the original once did.

What Capcom has done with this remake is marvelous: this new Resident Evil 4 is cleaned from all the flaws connected to the old age of the original game with the addition of a bunch of hours of new content keeping the quality at its maximum. You have to play this remake also if you're not a fan of the series.
